There is so many terms that are frequently used and have become quite irritable to me and I'm sure many others. First is usually told by the mouth of the artist, "I'm late, sorry" usually in response to "will u sign" . Isn't there a better excuse you could give us? Like "I'm tired of signing, my arm hurts and I'm really old" or "I'll sign in 10 minutes, just hold on".. I think the worst is when they say "I wish I could". What? You wish you could , you were 2 steps and 3 seconds away from signing my item and being on your way. These excuses are beyond annoying, I wish instead of "I'm late" it would be I'm early I'll sign everything!"
These terms are usually told by the people who sell autos. "the bay", "e street" "east bay". I've heard it all, inconspicuous terms in reference to eBay. Haha, because they can't say eBay in a "fan " setting or they would be shunned. How about? Don't talk about it at all because it's really obvious!
That's is for this time. But may I give some tips for the beginners?
1st. At SOME venues the security can be your best friends or your worst enemy, they will either give you every little bit of info you want or ensure you won't get anything signed.
2nd. Really know the band and crew, especially the tour managers. More than 25% of the time I get my stuff signed inside the venue. I will have someone walk inside and give the items to the artist and have them signed. Now this one can be by tricky because I would only use this method for lower-end bands like yes, bill cosby, frampton, skynyrd, meat loaf...because you know they will sign it. But I would not use this for big acts as you would probably get laughed at. Or fake graphs.
3rd and final.
Hotel Hotel Hotel. This is the BEST place to get your stuff signed, it's almost a guarantee to get items signed. The best time to get your stuff signed is when they check in or when they leave to go to their show. It's early in the day and your the first to hassle them. But finding the hotels can be tricky, there's really nothing I can tell you that would give you the hotel. It's PURE HARD WORK. Calling literally EVERY hotel within a 15 mile radius of the venue. I call under you're tour managers names and band members but even this method will fail if your trying to find McCartney or Eddie vedder. But for the most part this will work, or just follow them like every other bottom feeder after the show, and brace your self for the fight of your life!
