Chris Potter sports is doing a private signing with the elusive and uncommon Mike Marshall. You can get details here:

Prices are high, but that is to be expected with such a historically unwilling signer. Anyone know why Marshall has been so tough?

this is exactly what happened with Bill Russell (Celtics).  He was a miserable signer when he was playing and after.  signed NOTHING.  Against his principles or whatever stupid reason he used to give. until he was offered 250 bucks and more for his signature. now its not such a bad idea for him to sign.  and the more he signs the less its worth once the demand is met.

Mike Marshall is only in demand because he was so rare, and he did win a cy young.  I would never pay this kind of money for a mediocre player like this, as the more he signs, the value will definitely go down. it will never go up.

At least Russell was a superstar.
