You might be totally correct in regard to this one person. He might be totally honest.
It's just that the scenario is a familiar one to people who have heard these stories over the years. It doesn't mean one of them can't be true, but most of them are fiction.

EKL - I remembered that you had previously questioned the cost and seller not wanting it back, but I thought you were being too diplomatic. 😀
I think the seller most likely knows this stuff is fake, and the OP is too easily being taken in by the backstories.
I don't mean to offend anyone and of course I could be wrong, but going by what I've read here, that is my impression.

Nah, it’s not just the backstories. The guys been nothing short of genuine. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything at the time, you could tell he’s just proud of his collection. He was so incredibly hurt to find out that is was fake. We bonded over our common interest in music and memorabilia, showing each other our coolest pieces. Pictures with famous musicians, etc…he’s a real guy, he plays in a band in NY. His kid is a helluva drummer, they recently had lunch with the bassist for Tesla. He could have just taken my money and ghosted me.

Yes, I try never to ascribe malice when lack of knowledge will suffice. It's very unfortunate, all around.

But there are sharks out there and they will prey on any- and everyone. Never let your guard down. That is advice that applies to all of us.

I feel really sorry for your friend he was done over but to spend 4k on the item and accept immediately it is fake just like that , doesnt even argue etc.....seems a rather unusual response imo and he doesnt even want it back...............??

I’ll update you guys when I get the package on Monday. He said he also put a surprise in there for me, but to not worry because he actually got the “surprise” signed in person 🤷🏼♂️

I don’t like the SRV signed LP. Roger Epperson would be the guy for a quick opinion on the SRV. Good luck!!!
