Authenticity of USA for Africa Signed Poster: Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen etc

Hi everyone,

I saw this on eBay a couple of days ago and can't help but feel - despite the supporting documents - that the signatures aren't quite right. The Bruce Springsteen doesn't match other signatures I've seen, the L in Cyndi Lauper doesn't look like any others I have seen and the J's in La Toya Jackson and Jackie Jackson match too perfectly for me.

I was just wondering if anyone else could offer their opinion? I wasn't thinking of buying it myself, but the thought of someone spending £1000s on something that isn't authentic made me want to ask for your advice.

Thanks for having a look, and I hope I'm not breaking any rules by putting the link to the item here:

Here's a picture of the signatures for you to have a look at:

I think it's just been taken from the behind the scenes DVD which shows a bunch of them being signed. I have no clue how it's over a grand. The guy has also sold a load of (I think fake but it's not my area really) Banksy prints.

so fake!!

if i rember correctly there were a few of these large board set up  outside the studio that people signed  no clue if this one, i also belive some have been copied to fake people also

shameful is all I have to say.  Our hobby is constantly being frauded

Thanks everyone, I'm glad it's not just me who thinks its more than a little dubious! It's amazing the lengths some people will go to deceive collectors.

MJ is definitely not authentic. @chrisbedrum I agree, most of them look same hand.

If anyone is interested this sold for £5100, or $6800

I just saw that. I have no clue how! I reported it, but with eBay that doesn't seem to count for much. Such a shame that it will probably be on someone's wall for years before someone finally notices it's not real.

I mean you would at least like to think that the buyer had the common sense to do a quick opinion from Beckett or Epperson etc. eBay really don't seem to care about forgeries and it does suck. It is a shame but the buyer should exercise caution too with that type of money and no COA from a reputable company.

bad autos
