Hi everyone,
Does this Babe Ruth autograph look real in your opinion?
Thanks!

The typical individual is an economic self-maximizer, and this seller’s MO would seem to run contrary to that.  Unless he is needing to quickly liquidate his assets, and this doesn’t seem to be the case here, on the surface, what he is doing doesn’t seem to make sense.

Can one person specialize in forgery of signatures from so many areas and fields? If he faked Harrison's signature so well, how come he hasn't sold another Harrison or another Beatles member? In the two years I have been following him I can say that many items he sold had JSA or PSA letters. And as you said, he sold a Babe Ruth with PSA letter for $3000. He is a mysterious seller. After I bought the Harrison autograph from him, I told him I would send it to Perry for inspection. I told him that if Perry says it's not real, then I would have to return it. I remember he accepted my condition and told me: "No problem, let me know what Perry says".

I don't know abt the Harrison, but the ones I saw are terrible, the vintage stars. Hardly "specialist".

"... (it passed Perry Cox physical inspection and Perry issued a COA for it. It also passed Roger Epperson quick opinion at the time) ..."

Unless I am mistaken, the same could be said of the Ringo you now think is not authentic?

One big difference: Jason from Tracks said it's good. Not only that, but also Tracks were willing to buy this Harrison from me. That means a lot! And one more important thing: Ringo had everyone's opinion here that it wasn't real. However, on George's autograph the majority said it was good. I told you, you can't compare the Ringo issue to this issue.

Tracks can be wrong. They got one of my Bowie's wrong.

By the way, if it helps you in anyway, this is the seller's facebook profile (it is 100% his). His full name is Chris Blaine Darling and he is from Jamaica, New York (my Harrison arrived from Jamaica, New York from a person with this full name. Notice his Ebay user name is chrisbdarling).

He sells bad material IMO. That's all I need to know. Bad items at stupid prices with free shipping. says it all.

Makes sense. Jamaica, NY has a large organized crime presence.

Forgot to say that not only Perry and Roger said the George Harrison I bought from him was good, but also Jason from Tracks told me it was a good example. Which forger can fool the three of them together.  It doesn't make sense.

So, such a person would then knowingly be selling raw poorly forged vintage signatures on slips of paper for a fraction of the value to take advantage of people. If selling some good material facilitates that I won't participate. I just move on.

An autograph dealer selling a beautiful, real George Harrison for $400 makes even less sense to me.

Look at all the stuff he’s selling at far under market; they are the main part of his autograph business.

The seller makes a difference. I wouldn’t order a filet at Hannibal Lecter's Steakhouse no matter how good it looked.
