His last listing for the same exact ball had a buy it now for a few thousand. From what I could tell this ball would be worth well over 50k in the condition it is. The ball looks brand new.

I am sure the ball IS brand new, at least relatively speaking.

Another piece-of-crap babe Ruth forgery "authenticated (cough, cough)" by Drew Max and listed by Ebay seller 0poppy8.

Ok. I know there are a lot of experts on this site. The question is do you think is authentic? What do you think the real market value is?

Last time I did a post I'm proud to say 100% of the responses were correct.

Good luck and I look forward to what the smart people think.

Here is the link

If link doesn't work go to ebay and type in 151168990620
Auction did close. Hint: look at ALL the pictures.

Looks to be authentic based on the pictures. It is obviously not a single signed Ruth but PSA/DNA doesn't mention the other signature and they often don't on their LOAs but the seller does in the description.

The retail value is probably $4000 or so. If it was a single, it would be at least double that and probably a little more.

Interesting. It's a shame how having more than one signature on the babe ruth ball devalues it so much.

Below is a link to other Babe Ruth forgeries listed by EBay seller 0poppy8 that I posted.

I just read the new description on ebay and I guess the seller much credit. It looks like he just wants to be honest, and the information provided wont help him sell the ball. I was interested in this ball at one time but I appreciate the additional information about JSA saying it is no good? How often does that happen?? $3500 I think was his first price and it was $6200  the last time I looked at it so at least he came down.

he may be trying to be honest, but trying to get 3500 bucks for a bogus signature is still nothing to be proud of.  6200 vs 3500 is irrelevant.  An authentic Ruth ball in that shape would be worth at least 50K, probably more.  If it is not authentic, it is worth ZERO.

Rarely, if ever, will a Drew Max authenticated item pass either JSA or PSA/DNA.

Most of the items like this which would have a great value if authentic have already failed the more accepted authentication companies like JSA or PSA/DNA before even being submitted to him.

Drew Max, Christopher Morales, and Ted Taylor are commonly used as a last resort to try and get someone to authenticate a forgery with the belief being that any LOA is better than nothing.

This one will likely wind up in a Coach's Corner Auction at some point in time and sell for less than a thousand dollars which will still be a big loser for any winning bidder.

Guys. This is worth $10 with shipping. I'd take my Babe Ruth fake signed bat and whack the ball out of the park. Some kid would find it and think he hit the jackpot. It would wind up in the news and sell on eBay for $100k. Probably at one of the aloud auction houses.

Read this site and you will never buy another autograph.
