Hi. I just came across an autographed Babe Ruth baseball. As I am a pretty savvy collector, I know that there are many fakes out there, and this baseball has not been authenticated by anyone yet.
From initial review, I believe that it is authentic, just because the baseball is from the 1930s. The baseball also displays what appears to be the signature that Babe Ruth made on baseballs. The Babe Ruth signature looks a little too dark though for this ball. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Dustin

I feel that the relatively recent exposure of the pristine Ruth balls that sold for big dollars a few years ago, each possessing a PSA or JSA cert, has put any well-preserved ball with a Ruth signature on it, in question. I am not sure that a PSA or JSA blessing at this point, would mean as much now, as it did prior to the exposure of the Ruth forgeries.
I believe one or two things are going to happen.
The item will be re-listed, or, it will be sent to PSA or JSA.
Chris, do you think that I could ask you for your opinion on a John F. Kennedy signed postcard please? I trust your opinions.
Dustin
I'm not familiar with JFK's signature. Only the obviously bad ones.
That is a possibility, William. Only time will tell, of course.
Do you know who would be best on here to tell me what they think about a Kennedy signed postcard?
Post a new discussion in the authenticity opines forum. Someone should respond.
The person who penned this "Babe Ruth" is very good. He's penned them before.
absolutely.....he is very very good!
He is. I have examples of his other work.
