A collector near me has autographed albums he wants to sell - no provenance - and he sent me jpg's of some I was interested in - Beach Boys, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac - multiples of some albums - and the multiples aren't consistent with respect to signatures - occasionally laughably so. I thought I'd put them up for scrutiny - let me know what you think. I have in-person signatures from Brian Wilson from his 2001 tour with Paul Simon - but that bears little resemblance to the exemplars from the mid-60's.

The first 2 are Beach Boys albums - with Dennis Wilson - they resemble each other and look to my relatively untrained eye to be signed by the same person

Steven, these are horrible! Absolutely brutal. I mean, did the seller ever stop to think that maybe, just MAYBE Dennis Wilson passed away before silver sharpies came about?!?! These are a joke. He cannot be seriously trying to pass these off as authentic...

Sharpies were launched in 1964. There were definitely silver sharpies in Dennis' lifetime (passed away in '83)

Silver, copper and gold metallic Sharpies were introduced in 2004, though paint pens were certainly around before then.

Correct, Rich. As I stated, Silver sharpies were NOT around during Dennis Wilson's life. These could be silver paint pens, but based on the flow & smoothness of the sigs on the photo, they look very much like Silver sharpies. Regardless what kind of pen was used, these are obvious forgeries IMO. Not even close to the real deal.

I cant speak for the beach boys, as i dont know them at all, but i would agree they look signed by the same person. i wish i was better at computers, but maybe someone out their could do a zoomed in collage of a couple of the fleetwood macs side by side with the beach boys, side by side with a few of the signatures of the eagles. I have a feeling these were all signed by the same 1 or 2 people.

Dont like em, first photo interesting the Ws are all raised at the beginnings.

I'll manipulate the images I have and set them up in that fashion

I've put them in the same jpg and you can compare
