Beatles at Shea

Any opinion on these ones? They will be up for auction at Sotheby's but as there will be also "debatable" autographs from the Jimi Hendrix Experience at the same session (as explained in the very usefull and intersting other discussion initiated by Ballroom), I wonder what these ones worth... Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Pretty hefty if you ask me.

I know it was an historical night but ultimately what you have is a signed piece of paper with an inscription in an unknown hand that refers to the concert. OK you do also have some photos but not of the recipient with the Beatles.

I'm not surprised that quite a few lots didn't sell. The Bowie/Bolan guest book I mention above was a prime example. There were some crazy estimates in there - who is going to pay $1.2 to $1.8 million for a Lennon piano that he was probably never pictured or $200k - $300k for Brian Wilson lyrics? If the latter were for "Good Vibrations" we might be talking (see also Blowing In The Wind, which I can understand topping $300k).

The cheap stuff in there like modern photos for a grand also made the sale look thrown together - no real concept apart from "let's make some bucks".
