There are a lot of great items available at auction this next week and I recognize most of them from the last 20 years but this new one on R&R has got me doubting myself and could use some help.

It looks great but a little too familiar... anyone remember this one that was signed for the boy in the opening scene of the movie that sold at Bonhams like 5 years ago and again at Gotta Have It last year...

Is it possible that these were signed immediately after each other? There are extremely subtle differences in each signature but they are 99.9% identical.  I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thses things make me nervous. We have seen sets created from portions of other sets - pastiche... I recall "showing" some here with Photoshop.

I would like to add to this post because it pertains to a set of Autographs just like these.

In 1967 my deceased sister Angela and I  both took part as extras in the Magical Mystery Tour Film when making the Film in West Malling ,where we lived.

My Sister was given a set of Autographs as her Birthday was on the 25th September .She was the youngest Person to be in the Film.Four turning Five, I was 7 years old at the time.

I remember seeing  her Autographs on sale on E-Bay numbers of years ago- they looked so much like the set above  the only difference being that  at the top of the Page was written to Angie from the Beatles.( Or words to that effect) I know my sisters Nickname  was on the sheet of paper  but I dont know exactly what else -to long ago. There were two watermarks on them. These watermarks came from  all of our Family belongings falling overboard from a ship after being evacuated from Cyprus during the war in 1974.The packing cases were returned to us sometime later after we had moved back to  England. The cases had been broken open and anything of any Value including  the Autographs  was stolen.

I of course, had no proof that the set of Autographs were ours.

Its a real long shot but im hoping someone may know of this set  of Beatles Autographs and knows of its where abouts.

For the Past 30+ years I have collected all I can to do with Magical Mystery Tour .  I have decided  years ago to set up a non- Profit Charity in aid of children with Cancer. In my collection includes an Original MMT Coach that I bought with some help of friends from our Beatles Fan Club in Hannover 8 years ago.

Bugman,

Interesting comment! Hopefully members can help you track your sister's Beatles set. Did she sell it? Can you post pics of your MMT Coach please?

Thanks

As I wrote earlier , the set of Autographs that used to belong to my sister were not sold but stolen by an unknown person in 1974.

Here below are pictures of my bus being picked up to be taken to England to continue with her restoration. At this time she is being restored correctly with the help of supporters for my Non-Profit Magical Mystery Tour  Charity in aid of children with Cancer.

I missed that the autographs were stolen.

That bus is the best! Thank you for posting it.

The two Ringo signatures differ quite a bit, more than I would expect if one was an altered copy of the other.

I know, it’s really confusing me. My initial thought is that it’s not good but then I’ll see all the differences and I’m not sure. Hopefully R&R can provide some clarity from the consignor. They said they would talk to him/her. If they’re from the same person or has provenance, I could be convinced. If it’s on it’s 3-4th owner with no real “origin story”, then I am staying away. I would have noticed this if it ever came up for public sale in the past.

I was at a wedding until a couple hours ago and just getting back to Ryan's important observation.

I'm going back and forth like Ryan is. Unless someone does it first, I'll make closeup comparisons and overlays in Photoshop tomorrow AM to see how close to identical certain aspects are.

Here are closeup comparisons of two sets of Beatles autographs from several years ago that some of us feel are way too close for comfort:

Nice detective work boys...

Case closed

Case closed how? I’m still stumped. I think the MMT sets have more in common than the Pepper pair.

Ryan, could you please post all the history and documentation that you can of the set signed for the boy?

Thanks
