Beatles Signed Paper

Not sure on this set of signatures. They don’t look genuine to me.  Might be better with an in person examination.

Not right but only IMO - but I see sold £2700 ! on the hammer , so over £3500 inc fees, somebody liked them, well a lot of folks as started £600.

I contacted the auction house myself Steve & was told its for the buyer to decide , but looking at all of the lots & good prices for items that are questionable & that these are of my opinion wrong too as lots in that sale inc Hendrix !

The Harrison , Ringo, Lennon & McCartney solo items too in that sale look wrong IMO.

I cannot stand auction houses that take zero interest in making sure that the autographs they are selling at least stand a chance of being genuine. The Hendrix, Lennon LP and Marley LP in that sale are laughable. I guess someone who is not used to looking at autographs at all might find it difficult to do a quick check against ten or so sold items (e.g. at RR Auction) but then they should find someone who can do it or not sell autographs at all. They could also insist on something approaching a realistic reserve so that a signed Lennon or Marley LP that gets a top bid of under £500 won't actually sell anyway. 

In the case of the Beatles example this discussion is about, I think a non-specialist auction house could be forgiven for letting it slip through but if someone alerts them to a potential problem they should investigate or at least pass the information on to the buyer and offer a refund if an authenticator won't authenticate it.
