A real shame if it’s genuine.  Not sure how or why anyone would let their signed copy of the Beatles PPM Lp get to this state.  Apologize for the signature clarity but that is all there is on the auction site.  So the question is if the signatures are genuine would you pay $5000 for it. Any other thoughts?

Here's a story. When I got my Sgt. Pepper signed by Ringo backstage in '91 (I had interviewed Joe Walsh and had an in with his All Star band)...I happened to be sitting next to an old hippie woman. We got to talking. She told me her mom worked for the Ed Sullivan Show (I forget what capacity), and she got her a signed 8x10 photo signed by the band. I said something along the lines, "I'd love to see it" to which she replied, "Come to my car after the show." She had it in her back seat. The most beautiful autographed photo of the Fab Four ever! A great concert shot of the band, each of them signed clearly, over a spot on photo that's easy to see, by their respective faces. I asked her if she'd sell it, she said "For a million dollars." She didn't believe me that it wasn't worth that much. She insisted it was worth a million bucks. So, fast forward to five years later. I see her at a concert. I asked about the Beatles photo. Well, she now carried it in her purse/bag....because...she said at all these concerts, the band members always requested wanting to see it. She pulled it out and....OH. MY. GOD. It had about 13 wrinkles in it now, and bent corners. And when I initially saw it...it was a picture that looked brand new!!! All because she had to carry it around and show people

I remember this story well.

Wow!

I just had a thought - what if what she carried around was a actually very good photocopy/quality reproduction of her original? I used to make high quality copies of signed photos I had and would display those and keep the originals safe and out of sunlight.

No. Contrast, condition, quality - none of the above are present or mitigated by other qualities as there are none.  Who are the other two signers?

I think it’s worth 5k.

easily.

if authentic, I agree.

In a vintage looking shadow frame with original Beatles memorabilia (covering the bad/missing) it could be made to be an attractive "true fans" collection/display. The memorabilia should not eclipse the LP in terms of condition or color. No "The Beatles" plaque or anything potentially tacky.

I think you may be correct.  Depending on how it was done, the overall presentation could be dramatically improved.  I did notice that Ringo and John signed in what appears to be pencil.  I suspect this particular Lp has not been accounted for in the signed Lp database?

Worth more than $5k IMO.

No issues with any of the Beatles signatures?

Signed maybe mid '63...It wasn't thought of as "memorabilia" back in 1963. You had an LP signed by The Beatles...you showed it to your friends and let them handle it...pass it around...play it at get togethers...maybe even...(Gulp)...let your friend borrow it and take it home? That's how it would get in this condition...IMO.

An expert restorer could do wonders with this - you should see some of the work done on movie posters - but the work would probably cost a lot more than $5k and the end result may look too clean.
