This one has been making the rounds on the market lately.

JSA gave it the nod for a fee in January '25.

How does it look?

Here is the whole item - $1,249.00

Mine for $250 more:

I don't think I recall seeing a Lugosi where the "L" is smaller than the "B".The OP "L" is so diminutive and odd - it is usually longer and/or well formed - he was writing not only his name but the name of his home town. Such a large "g" as well.

It's a complete mess when you make exemplar comparisons to it.

It's been tossed around like a hot potato in online sales recently.  I can see why.

Apart from being a poor forgery, why would anyone pay that for a ripped album page signature?

It has that look of a more recent use of fountain pen ink being applied to old paper.

Many PIECE OF THE PAST and HEROES AND LEGENDS creations had this look as well.  There's not those genuine signs of aging and decades old settling to the ink.  It just doesn't quite come off right to my eye.

You are so right. And multiple recent sales are a very telling sign.

Another little quirk in this is that the dealership listing has it described as being in fountain pen but the JSA LOA has it as being in ballpoint.

Seeking logic in this is fools play.

Here is a rather decent forgery but it betrays itself in the "e" etc.:It seems to have the correct "u."

As far as forgeries go, that's mile ahead of the one we've been looking at!

Indeed. By way of Richard Simon with backing bv Stephen Koschal. It was promptly returned and said to be destroyed.

Weird red ink, also.  Almost looks like a fine felt tip.
