Has anyone heard if Barnes & Noble will be doing their annual Black Friday instore Signed Edition promotion? If so, any ideas of what books could potentially show up?

They had Bono last year - if I recall it was completely unannounced. I doubt they’ll have them again this year but who knows

Matthew mcconaughey Dave grohl and Natalie Portman are ones I want them to have again maybe even Brian Johnson

One of the stores near me has put a limit on how many you can purchase which is good for someone like me who is a collector and not so much a seller. Not sure if this is something being gone at other stores.

Announced so far:

Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Fallon

Jada Pinkett Smith

John Stamos

Melissa Ethridge

Keegan Michael Key

Reba Mcintyre

Matthew McConaughey

Shannon Messenger

Hollis B. Dylan

Anthony Doerr

Rebecca Yarros

Adalynn Grace

Mary Beard

Jesmyn Ward

Dan Pelosi

Mo Willems

Bonnie Garmus

Alex & Nelson DeMille

Jessica Long

Kerri Maniscalco

Likely at some locations: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Jordan Peele likely digitally signed (printed sig- not live ink)

The Matthew mcconaughey is nice I’m getting him. I like a lot of these names but for the price point I’m going to pass. If these were half off I would get some for my personal collection At least there’s a chance of Arnold signed books.

Nobody on that list has me standing in line early and for that, Im thankful!

lol

I saw a tweet from Bob Odenkirk the other day, saying that signed copies of his children’s book will be available from B&N.

Are those limited or will his signed books be a normal amount?

If it's like last years Dale Jr book, it may be hit or miss between stores and you also have to check near the children's section but I would think the employees should know if there are any. I was able to hunt down Bono by calling every store in the area. 1 store required a membership to hold it. Another store had no requirements and were super nice. This wasn't specifically for Black Friday but it still wouldn't hurt to call 1st

Do you think it’ll be the larger stores that get the Patrick Stewart and possibly Arnold signed books in?

We have one store that’s the only one in the area and then about an hour + away in either direction is a slightly larger one connected to a mall.

The one I found Bono at, in the St Louis area, was a smaller store. I may have been late to the party and other stores were sold out but not sure. When I called around, half of the stores sounded clueless about the release. Some automatically said no stock and some had to look in the system and said they were hopeful they may get some but I'd have to call back pretty much every day.

It's strange how different each store can be while still being a major chain. They are not all on the same page. If you are waiting at one during the opening, maybe you can call the other store while you are physically looking in the 1st store. Chances are they won't hold a black Friday in store deal but since my experience has been different between stores, you never know unless you try. If they have a lot in stock, a nice employee may still put one aside for you if you tell them you have a long drive to get there
