What are you thinking on this one, Eric?

Absolutely 100% blazingly genuine, typical faded red pen. I wish I owned it. Scary Monsters Edward Bell litho. I have written about this style at length but wanted to shiow this great scan. Hard to find.

NOTE: I see one is doubled (the OP) in thses scans I posted in previous discussion of this style - my apologies (actually, it is tripled, which is appropriate for this "triple B" discussion! ;). These are all authentic 1980 Bowie's, showing more than one "B" style. The last example, from 1983 obtained at Hershey Park, is the latest dated "triple B" I have seen thus far...

Yes, a few are shown twice etc. Apologies again. These 1980 and "triple B" composites were made at very different times. I believe much can be seen here.

Great work as always Eric. Do you think the red pen one was just exposed to direct sunlight or was he using a pen that was running low and naturally has faded?

Hi Scott,

From what I have read and seen all are faded - this implies a single type of pen. It seems all were were signed in a fugitive red - some barely visible now and others brownish as this example.

And in 1995 at the Chertavian Gallery Bowie again signed his brochures and such with a fugitive red pen - this one only sat on the surface and scratches off the glossy white substrate:
