The last thing I will throw out there for you guys to consider, With the passing of Peter Cushing in 1994 and Alec Guinness in 2000, there has been a strong interest in index cards signed by Star Wars actors, complete-ist collectors didn't have much in the way of other options if they wanted a full cast framed up set. Thankfully Peter and Alec both generously signed cards and album pages for their fans over the course of their long careers. In contrast, for the last few decades a number of the cast have been reluctant to sign index cards, with some outright refusing to do so. Then 2016 saw the loss of both Kenny Baker and Carrie Fisher, making it that much more difficult for the new generation of Disney/Star Wars fans to frame up a set.

We talked a bit about how a photo will likely be worth more than a lithograph print, but there are situations where an uninscribed, unlined white index card will sell for more than a photo.

I agree, Pete. Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing signed photos ARE worth less than uninscribed index cards. Alan Rickman is also one that commands a premium.

I can get non-Star Wars Guinness signed photos for less than signed cards. It's a shame that his signed photos draw so little interest because of his role in Star Wars. I can see how that probably upset him. A wonderful body of work and everyone is focused on one movie.

I have seen this trend across all genres. Another angle is that index cards are typically difficult to find for people who did not sign through the mail. Mickey Mantle signed a zillion photos and balls at card shows, but how many are going to pay to get an index card signed?

   Pete! That does explain how a signed card or cut could have more interest and value to someone putting a full cast display together. The cards or cuts are also great to frame & matte up with your favorite photo, mag cover, album, songsheet or whatever you like.  Its much better in my opinion than having a signed image you don't like.

Just in general, I've become a big fan of signed index cards. I have several in my collection and frame then with a favorite photo. When I get bored with that particular photo, I simply swap it out. They're very versatile, and in many cases, cheaper, unlike the instances mentioned above.
