Here's one I'd like to get an opinion on. It's a Gable signature on a Laszlo Willinger photo from a movie called "Strange Cargo." I've wondered about this one for a long time. I sent a photo of the autograph in to AutographCOA some time back for an online opinion. They said it was good. I'd still like to have some of your thoughts about it.
There is some guy selling copies of this exact same photo on eBay for about $10. It's the same identical signature in exactly the same spot as this signature. I've looked at this signature very closely under the lights. This signature was signed with a pen. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen, Mike.ohotograph

Look Eric, God love you. FYI, I just pulled about $5000 worth of everything that is questionable. But I'm starting to get a little tired of you attacking and trying to find fault, and error in every statement I make, and everything I do or don't do. This ain't a courtroom, I ain't on trial, and you ain't no judge. Give it a rest.
I really don't have time or inclination to constantly keep trying to defend myself, my actions, and my intentions from whatever accusation you can dream up to hurl at me. I just don't. I wasn't brought into this world to answer to you about anything. You can think whatever bad you want think about me. That's fine. My world doesn't revolve around what you think about my character. Why? Because I just happen to know myself just a whole lot better than you ever will. Give it a rest, and go find someone else to pick on. And you just might want to start with the fellow in the mirror.
Thanks,
Mike.
I'm not the one who has been misrepresenting items as "certified", or selling things I am simultaneously questioning. It is good you pulled those items. Well done.
I have a question about this piece:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/134403378418?hash=item1f4b10ccf2:g:l3AAAOS...
Hepburn typed notes from her later year were on stationary that had red lettering at the head (I have a few). I've never seen an original one from her that had black lettering like the one on eBay above (I guess there could be...just never seen one without the red). Is the provided scanned image in black and white for some reason? Or is the physical letter in the listing possibly a copy ?
Here's an authentic, original and typical red lettered example:
I also noted a seeming b/w image of a John Wayne and the PSA papers.
The accompanying scan in the listing of the Beckett LOA that goes with the Hepburn is in color.
If it's original and does actually have the red lettering, I'd recommend having a color scan of the piece done so that the lettering can pop in the listing image.
Agreed. One of the John Wayne photos is in color while the detail scan (?) and papers are shown in B/W. Color is better for everything - so much more data. And with original stills it is truly necessary.
Could be some scanner issues. When I looked back at the Beckett LOA accompanying the Hepburn, I see their "B" in Beckett in the upper left corner looks like it's not showing up as the solid dark "B" they use on their original Letters.
They're not scanner issues. The autograph photo displays are too big to fit in my scanner. I photograph those. It's probably the photographer's fault, in other words, mine. Uneven photography lighting. From authenticity issues to comments on the light and dark shadings of a B? Oh boy, this is gonna be fun!
I agree on the lettering color issue. The letter in the display does seem to have a mailing fold....
I don't want to pile on, especially if the thread was closed. Still, here's two more attributed as coming from Rutland's. imho, these could warrant further examination:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/134405658877?hash=item1f4b3398fd:g:PRAAAOS...
Like I've said, I've never dealt with them, but I don't care for what I've seen so far. Just my opinion ...maybe others feel differently.
I've pulled all Rutlands, I think. I believe I've pulled all Piece of the Past. I double check shortly. Yes Eddy, I will correct Katharine's first name in the listing. I pulled Richard Burton, just because Eric said it was "wrong."
All this revamping isn't something that I'm doing with a lot joy. But I do know it's something I must do. Not because I fear the scorn of anyone. Not because I've let myself get hosed by every autograph selling crook on eBay and beyond. And I trying to get my money back.
I'm doing it for two reasons. One, I don't want to do to someone else what some have done to me. And two, I'm gonna meet my maker some day, hopefully not any time soon. When I do, I don't want to have to look at him in the eye knowing that I willfully cheated other people out of their money by selling them worthless, fake, garbage!
I'm going to slowly have them all authenticate by good ol' trustworthy JSA! Who else?
