Coach's Corner (www.myccsa.com) is one of the largest monthly auctions of sports autographs, trading cards and memorabilia. They sell non-sports items as well.

  • What's your experience with them?
  • What do you think of their material?
  • If you've sold through Coach's Corner, how happy were you
  • Do you have autographs from Coach's Corner you'd like opinions on?

Let's talk about it!

I would think you are correct, Richard. What Coach's Corner does is sell fake signatures on everything down to a paper plate. Then create fake companies to authenticate the garbage. The Attorney on retainer is probably fake.

I'm glad you are going after them, Paul. Eventually, someone will bring them down. Worst problem is when one gets shut down, two new ones pop up.

Autographs is the perfect market for crime. Hard to get a conviction. Would take the FBI or Postal Inspectors to have enough resources to put all the pieces together.

About the only way is to hit them in their pocketbook with a class action civil suit. Few see prison time for this kind of crime.

I love the part in the Cincinnati Fox 19 report where they slipped in a guitar that someone got signed themselves among all the music forgeries from that fundraiser that Coach's Corner supplied, and Roger Epperson called it real without skipping a beat.

Most people think that a business that's been around for decades has to be legit. If they saw that video and saw that Coach's Corner's building looks like a crack house, they might think differently.

The forensic examiner scam was ingenious. When I found out that American Royal Arts sued Frank Caiazzo (for those who don't know, he's the world's most respected Beatles authenticator) I was flabbergasted that they had a "court-approved" forensic document examiner, Christopher Morales, issuing letters of authentication for every autograph they sold—and nothing I saw except a few things from private signings were real in my opinion.

I pictured Morales holding one hand in the air with another on a Bible swearing "to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." I thought they were bamboozling him and I wanted to tell him what was really going on.

Most people don't think like criminals unless they are criminals. That's why I rarely, if ever, blame the victim. Most are careful, intelligent people who were scammed through no fault of their own.

Yeah I did like them trying to slip Roger up. I would have guessed Journey was a band he could authenticate pretty easy. He’s probably seen thousands of those sigs over the years. Was gutsy call calling 1 guitar authentic after seeing and knowing all those charity guitars were fake. Any other TPA would have called that one fake too just by guessing the origin of it.

Like most forgeries, the others were so obviously fake that a piece that looks even close to genuine stands out.

Ya know what Rick I might agree with you if we were talking a piece here and a piece there, but we are not. In my case we are talking 30 jerseys, six football helmets, hockey pucks, photos. To believe I am the only one who has been screwed like this is silly, others have as well. What's easy is to sit and come up with all the reasons nothing will happen, why Coachs Corner will keep on taking advantage of people with no repercussions. Their deceit spans every state. Has been happening for a very long time, costing thousands and thousands of dollars. I believe people have gotten in trouble for far less. So Coach's Corner? I don't expect anything to happen overnight. That's where most go wrong I think. They think they really have something someone wants to know about, and they'll satisfaction as they slam their hand on the table. It's gonna take many victims who lost a lot of money, and only one federal prosecutor to listen. Don't matter what state!

I think you fellas give Coach's Corner to much credit.

I established an email account for other people burned by these criminals. fakesignatures1@gmail.com. I am going to run ads across Craigslist today looking for those who lost money. OH, BY THE WAY, Lee Trythall wants to speak with me.

I was on a work call and just missed a call from Action News Philadelphia. Sounds like someone is interested.

I hope you nail the crooks. Thanks for working on this.

If they are, you're getting further than anyone else has in their local market as far back as I can recall.

So what did Action News say ?
