We all would...

I really gave up.  the last 3 months I've been ordering from everywhere. I am no very happy with the total amount I've paid, so now I don't care,  I avoid most sells outside eu. (And will probably only buy signed covers liked MSP or vinyls I really want to have )

Johnny Marr has a new LP that I thought of buying, the bundle with signed art print is 40 euro,  but when I looked at final price with shipping it become 70 euro (plus another 5 for customs when I  get it). So I just didn't order (must admit I have a signed 7" single of his, really beautiful autograph ). same goes to many others I saw this month (soft cell/ waterboys...).

I also bought this week a Bryan Adams Vinyl with autographed art print, only 27 euro, no shipping cost. So it's a huge difference!

Yeah I totally get that and feel the same.

Ordered a Coldplay: $12.99 for one CD plus $7.99 US shipping. For forwarding I'm looking at another $20 or so on top. Then import taxes and handling fee. In the end it'll have cost me around $55.

The new VAT rules are ruining everything… At the moment I lost two items because of it because they were untracked and my country customs don’t know anything about them. Plus, we are kind of investing in culture, it’s not electronics or similar, so I think they should let stuff like books, music or movies go without paying their VAT. But that’s just me thinking…

having the same issue my friend! unbelievable … I immediately ask for tracking number and keep on contacting my local post office if they received anything. That helped

I guess that I won't ask for an untracked order outside of EU anytime soon... That way I can track where they are and even when they arrive at my country customs. I already lost The Veronicas' Human signed CD and Chvrches Screen Violence signed CD. But I have faith that the Human CD will appear eventually since I never had informations about it. The Screen Violence was returned, I don't know why...

Agree with you. no reason to pay VAT on art (below a certain amount).

And as a rule, registered mail is extra money, but also an insurance that you will get the item (in case it's lost at least you get the money back), also think that the fact it's registered makes it less attractive to steal, as there is paper trail....

I am starting to think it will be cheaper in most cases to just go to the concert and get the autograph myself.
I live in Amsterdam, so we get most of the artists, I just saw that there are concerts of ub40/level42 and many more.... I do go to many concerts, but since I have a kid I can't go to all of them like I used to (and it used to be 2 concerts a week, but at the time I did not collect autographs, shame!).

I was fine with the rule in my country that you wouldn't pay any customs if the item was below 22€ so... I agree that culture/art sort of rules the world so they could make it VAT free.

Yup, usually the double of regular shipping but I'll have to start to pay registered mail to avoid lost items. But you're absolutely right.

I wish it was the same here in Portugal, mosts artists don't come here sadly so I'm a little bit restricted to get signed items at concerts but I already got some and I'll try to get some booklets signed by Jessie J in the next year.

Just arrived.

Very cool! Congrats!

That’s awesome! Congratulations!

Is the art card sealed inside with the cd?

That looks great!!! Amazing. Based on the autos I’ve seen by them these look good to me! Although I am no expert just an avid fan with a few of their autos so I’m not sure how much my opinion is worth.
