The Monkees are coming to AZ in August so I am looking to buy a album signed by Davy Jones,  I want to try and add Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork to it while they are here.  Does this album look real?

Does anyone know if this is real?

I would say this is genuine.

I agree. This is a nice Davy autograph.

Thank you for your replies.

I have a signed album by Davy, that I guarantee would be deemed not authentic, but I know for a fact it was signed by the Monkee legend.

It was one of the coolest concert experiences of my life!  A friend and I attended a show by Davy Jones in the winter at the DECC Auditorium in Duluth, MN.  Small place that doesn't hold too many folks, so when the show was beginning to wind down, we left our sets and joined some fans at the front of the stage.  When Davy came back out for an encore, I was holding up his first solo album.  He walked over to me and grabbed it from me, and showed the audience and joked about how young and good looking he used to be.  He then walked back to give it to me, and all was quiet in the crowd, so I yelled to him to Please SIGN IT!  The audience cheered, and he came back and I handed him my Sharpie and he signed it in front of the whole crowd!  He was balancing a microphone, and so it turned out to be a terrible signature, but it was amazing!

After the concert was over, I gave my friend my Monkees Greatest Hits LP to try and get signed.  We weren't sure where to find him, so we just waited to see where all the beautiful people were going.  I then asked one of the roadies for the set list that was taped to the floor with scuff marks etc. from Davy stepping on them.  We decided to just go for it, and followed a few people backstage.  They all had passes, but they were not being checked.  We did not have a pass, so we just played it cool.  Davy was taking pictures and signing for some people, so we got in line.  I got my set-list signed, my friend got my Monkees LP signed, which I told him to keep.  We thanked him and he was the coolest guy I ever met.  So humble and thankful for his fans!  We were of course 10-20 years younger than the rest of the people get auto's, so he talked with us for about 10 minutes.  Very cool, he told us a story of hanging out with the Beatles, which sent us over the edge.  Anyways, sorry for rambling, but this thread brought back an amazing memory for me, and I was saddened to hear that he past away a few years later.  What a class act.

Very cool story. He was indeed a super nice guy. I tried to get his autograph after a Monkees concert. He was leaving the venue in a limo after the show and asked the driver to stop for a group of fans waiting for him. Micky's a great guy too, but his limo didn't stop. Ha ha. Anyway, I was towards the back of the group and people started to push and get a bit rowdy, so he drove off before I could get an autograph.

I have gotten Davy's autograph many times. If it's not authentic, it's a damned good forgery.

Thanks for the replies, I won the auction for the Davy Jones autographed album and got it at a great price.  I ended up getting it for $37 which I thought was a steal.  Now to add Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork to the album when they in town unfortunately I have read and heard that Mike Nesmith is impossible.

Congrats, and good luck with adding Micky and Peter. Mike is indeed by far the toughest one to get on a Monkees item.

Were you able to add them? Micky can sometimes be hard to get, but he does have a signing table at the end of his solo shows. That makes it worth the price of admission alone!
