This Jeter came in a small group of supposedly through the mail/in person autographs. Most of the autographs were vintage and definitely authentic.  Willie Mays, Red Faber, Yogi Berra, and Pee Wee Reese 3" x 5" index cards along with some common guys. I have included scans of these as well.

Jeter was the only more recent player and I really have no clue on Jeter and if genuine this is obviously an early signature. 

Any opinions?

Likely authentic IMO, around 1994 I would say. Here is an example on a ball from 1994:

I have concerns with signature speed on this one and can't tell enough from the photo provided. Here is another example of an authentic signature on a card from this time:
