Derek Jeter GA Forgeries eBay seller sportshaveninc7541

Here are 2 horrific Derek Jeter forgeries that were certified by Steve Sipe's Global Authentics company. Mr. Sipe, how were these possibly certified? These are both listed by eBay seller sportshaveninc7541

95% of the time you try and contact an EBAY seller about something their response is very nasty or you get blown off.

Blogging seems to get their attention much faster for the same reason you found it. Somebody will see it and notify them.

Rick is absolutely correct about that.  When we try to open a dialogue with a seller of forgeries, they immediately get defensive and the first thing they write is "it comes with a COA."

The majority of sellers (bulk sellers) of autographs know ZERO about autographs and that's a fact.

And just because a seller has 100% feedback really means nothing when it comes to the authenticity of autographs.   And that's because the majority of buyers of autographs know ZERO about autographs.

Then, of course, they also reply with "I have a reputable source."  Means nothing.

Sportshaveninc,

We're here primarily to protect collectors by alerting them to sellers of forgeries and forgeries in general. Sometimes sellers who didn't know they were selling forgeries get called out in the process. It sounds like you didn't know, and I'm sorry about that.

Sportshaveninc, below is my thread from last year on the Global Authentics certed Derek Jeter forgeries:

http://live.autographmagazine.com/profiles/blogs/global-authentics-...

"Professional sports authenticators" as in companies/individuals who accept money to authenticate sports autographs. NOT PSA/DNA specifically.

you also might want to reconsider the Rivera balls you have for sale.  A similar situation occurred with the Global authenticated Rivera baseballs.

What defines a professional authenticator. A bunch of Staples made cards with numbers on them and a roll of matching hologram stickers? Then an easy website made from a template with a simple database that records these numbers with brief narratives to what they were stuck on

I can be professional by the end of the week.
