Would you avoid graphing a celebrity or athlete who has a history of illegal/immoral behavior (e.g., Michael Vick, Tyson, Kobe, Mel Gibson), or is otherwise a known jerk?

In the past it hasn't mattered much to me--I didn't think twice about graphing Paris Hilton or Kobe Bryant (at the time I was thrilled). But seeing the overwhelmingly positive reception Chris Brown got from the crowd at the Grammy's made me think about how short the memories of fans can be, and how fame can outshine even very dark acts. (My post on the subject if you're interested.)

Does character matter in your collection?

I actually have a John Rocker auto...he was quite an a-hole at the time a few years ago...he was quite entertaining to me

I will not collect anything by those who are jerks or done something illegal. I have gotten rid of items from Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Ken Griffey Jr. (real jerk), Sammy Sosa, etc.

Collect a-holes? No. Buy autographs from a-holes? Yes.

I do have a few Clemens autos he was a bit of an A-hole...Gary Sheffield and Reggie Jackson are right up there on the A-hole list as well

Chris, you are definitely right about Reggie, he may be the worst I have ever met.  Steve, you read my mind, bought from (YES), collect (NO).

If you collect nazis , pretty much all of em were douches ;)

There are a couple guys over at ANaL who will tear you a new one....
