We all really appreciate your effort. Its a great 1st step.. but please don't let them get away with giving this response. Gather some side by side pictures, a link describing an autopen (so they know you are educated enough to tell the difference) and pleade your case. Weve had to go through the same type of responses with different retailers until they caught on regarding other autopens

Appreciate it, I don’t think I’ll let it go yet..just need time to gather the examples from everything out there and put it together for them.

Was just curious how generic their response would be…I noticed they did NOT say that the sleeve I received was personally signed but instead, that the limited edition “provides” an authentic hand signed autograph…seems like they’re leaving room there possibly for reprint/autopen of genuine auto

I emailed Chronicle right after I ordered Songteller and they also told me it was hand signed. However, if her people are telling them that then what else can they say? It’s strange Dolly never posts photos or videos of her signing but she posts everything else. Back in the day when she signed limited edition posters and things there would always be photos of her signing.

Personally, I get tired and cramped handwriting about 50 Christmas cards so I can’t even fathom how someone close to 80 would attempt to sign hundreds or thousands of books and CDs. Just doesn’t seem plausible.

So I actually ordered the Waterstones Patterson book (having forgotten I did) I understand that's pretty much a wash. However, after seeing some of the comparisons in this thread I'm now MUCH more concerned about my deluxe edition Songtellers that I got directly from Premier when they were released. Supposedly limited to 250 or whatever, came sealed with COA and all that. Mine looks a little different than some of the others I've seen used to show potential autopen/comparisons. Any chance mine may be looking like a different/actually legitimate one having come from that source? Or should I take her down off the shelf?

Sorry, it just doesn't look good to me. Without even looking for a duplicate to compare, it has the signs of an autopen. Ill help you search for one in a bit when I have more time

I quickly went through the examples posted earlier from the books. Yours looks almost identical to this template

Yeah I just pulled mine back out to get the whole left side and it's definitely a template

That's clearly machine made - the Bowloforanges example. The two shown after are not related.

Bummer

I remember making this for the last time around, or was it another? Why do folks keep trying? Anyway, there are more than dots to look at in the Bowloforanges example - the curves among others. Click for full image:

For me anyway, I figured something that was marketed as being limited to 150 (and at the price point) would be something she could churn out legitimately

Great simple example. There are more signs (wavyness when lines should be fluid, one continuous thick like where these should be varying pressure points.. etc.. ) but these are the basics everyone should spot quick
