Fake sadly

Thank you

Not authentic IMO

Well, this one was obtained in person:

Looks quite similar to yours, so it might be good. Hard to tell with this rushed stuff he signes nowadays.

Maybe. But as I said: This one has an exact photo proof:

So we shouldn't be too hasty in our judgement.

This image is worthless - the item is not shown signed. I'd be wary of any dealer who calls this photo-proof as that is a lie in this case. This is proof of nothing at all - someone got near Elton, that's all. Bad sellers do this all the time. Some collectors fall for it.

If you are saying the image above is the same photo in the so-called "Proof Photo" where did the white margin go?

In person graphers usually have a backing for celebrities to sign on. True, this is photo is not proof.. but the missing white margin can be explained

How can I be so sure? The photo does not show a signature at all. Photo-proof is when you have a photo that shows the signed item - like the Smashing Pumpkins set I sold. Photographs of each signer and cleary shows in the photograph so that it could be matched. Anything else is non-sense and speculation.

"...very close to Elton. Why shouldn't he have his photo signed a few seconds later? Maybe he didn't think it necessary to take a second picture afterwards..."

Errant hopeful speculation - the photo is not proof of anything at all, period.

This is what real photo-proof looks like, with the negatives - click for full images:

I agree and was caught out years ago in a similar scenario. The seller only had a photo of the signer and the photo but not them signing it and I bought it. Days later I saw the same seller selling the same photo in another auction as proof and they repeated this several times.

Topps and some sellers get actual photo and video proof of them getting items signed but you pay a premium
