Hi Everyone,
Was hoping I was getting some opinions, and maybe some suggestions if there is a feeling these signatures could be authentic, on what to do next after receiving some items back from PSA DNA. In total I sent 31 items in and only 16 came back as authentic. These were all obtained through the mail - it disappoints me that if true, these celebrities had someone else sign for them. Would much rather to not get a response at all or a preprint so at least I know it isn't the real thing:(. I wanted to ask the community about two of the items today.
Both were obtained by mail in the early 2000's. One is Robin Williams. Along with returning the index cards signed, he sent a letter (I did not send the letter to PSA) that stated he could not respond personally to every question posed to him by fans but that he was honoring autograph requests. He then signed the letter and then my two index cards (one index card shown with letter attached). Was this truly not his signature? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through to just issue a secretarial signature. Again, I didn't send the letter to PSA because I didn't think it would be needed. PSA didn't say that this was definitely fake...just slant, pressure, etc. weren't in line with what they'd seen before.
The next is Morgan Freeman's. Again, obtained by mail in early 2000. Again, not a definite opinion from them - slant, pressure, etc. Thoughts?
Just disappointed because I wanted to frame these after keeping them in a photo book for almost 20 years :(
Thanks for your time!

thats is whats psa or becket or rogers way of failing or saying there fake.they wont give u there real reason why they dont belive there not real just the standard form letter saying there no good, its actualy b******* because ur paying for a sevice and not get a real explantion but thats what they do
pss not uncomon to have secretrials come back by mail .
I have a different view of that than you do, John, but I understand your reasoning.
PSA/DNA and all legit TPAs are in the business of certifying as genuine autographs that they think are real. They are not in the business of doing an analysis and explanation of WHY autographs fail. If they were, their fees would be a lot higher.
None of them charge more than $300 on the high end to authenticate; even a full band, as far as I know. Forensic document examiners charge from $150-$300+ an hour, and would probably charge $600 to as much as $3,000 or more for any single autograph.
That's why most TPAs have a generic reject letter.
PSA/DNA's standard rejection letter is generic and lists all the possible reasons why they didn't certify a submission.
BTW, if the autographs are mostly from A-list stars like Morgan Freeman and Robin Williams, you're doing well that half of your through the mail (TTM) autographs are likely genuine. Most TTMs are secretarials, preprints or autopens.
