Here's a short review of the initial Kuster sale;

The photo included shows an image of pieces said to be from it. What we see in this photo are NOT inscribed "To Jack". These samples also seem to look vintage without the unusually colored/looking inks or attached photos.
Perhaps there was a base of real vintage autographed material that was, at some point, "creatively expanded" ?
I just took a look at the R R auction. I did see many that appear questionable (Elvis, Hank Aaron, Koufax), and some that are definitely authentic (Joe DiMaggio).
I wouldn't write off the entire collection but there are definitely some clunkers mixed in
I don't know if I mentioned it but that Elvis caught my eye as well.
Absolutely. I'm by no means an Elvis expert, but even I can see that from a mile away! 😔
terrier8HOF - Thanks for those those thoughts. I don't know sports at all so I can't speak to those and certainly appreciate the insight.
What I see here are a fair number of questionable looking superstar signatures in the vintage entertainment area. Most of these have color or higher quality B&W images applied to the card for eye appeal. Are these vintage magazine images or digital images that have been applied? As for the handwriting, we see rather bold, fresh looking ink (sometimes in unusual colors). I sense that there's an unsteadiness to the flow in some of what I've looked at.
I also can't get over the photo in my comment just above of the file container with truly vintage looking cards in age appropriate looking condition. They look very different than the fresh ones that were featured with some of the superstars.
Jack Kuster died in 2012.
According to the linked article, the heir:
"lovingly and meticulously organized the vast collection in the intervening years".

As we see, it was mostly sold off over a decade later in 2023.
"Are these vintage magazine images or digital images that have been applied?"
I seriously doubt that as it would be obvious in hand, although as we have seen "nothing is impossible" these days.
On the other hand I have had dealers offer me obviously screened signs so...
