Remember this Paul McCartney signature we had a discussion about? Ebay removed the original listing as a forgery. Well, I submitted it to Roger Epperson and he issued a LOA on it. I relisted it on ebay and they just removed it again! Guess I now own a Paul McCartney that will be tainted no matter what. Another life lesson learned the hard way.

Thanks Steve, I appreciate your suggestion and value your input greatly. Personally, I think it's more likely authentic than not. I'm beyond that, just sharing this somewhat odd experience. A sought after autograph with a solid LOA from a respected expert; one would have thought this should have be a smoother path to market it. I would feel bad if I sold it to someone and they encountered this same kind of situation down the road. Mercy, this hobby is difficult enough. I still enjoy it though.

I still awaiting a reply from RR Auctions about consigning it. If I was a betting man, I'd say I won't hear a word. That, in itself, will be a response. Silence is not golden.

It has a coa from roger, so who knows.
Try iconic auction ..

Thanks, Paul. Another great suggestion. I think I will await to see if RR responds and take some time to let this settle before I proceed further. Least, I now own a Macca and I've always wanted to do that.

Joe,  why not try omega auctions over here?  They usually get roger 's quick opini    anyway on any  beatles or expensive signed autograph item that they put in for sale in their music signed auctions so they will be delighted to see that it already has a roger full coa .   forgot to add they are the auction house that sold that really rare beatles record that sold for a hugh amount

Thanks, michelle. Another strong possibility.

I just saw Thorsten's reply. I'm confident your McCartney is genuine, but Thorston's opinion that it may not be makes me feel better about eBay. Thorston knows the Beatles pretty well. I respect him.

I've decided to take Steve's suggestion to offer this signature in this site's buy, sell, trade section. Since this has been an active topic which I appreciate, I believe this is the best place to offer this. At least, everyone can read and get a full idea of the various quality thoughts and opinions by many well respected and experienced collectors. Thanks to all!

Joe

Are you a member of the RACC? They have a dedicated sell option on Facebook. If this has not been suggested, definitely worth a look. Sorry you've had this burden.

Best,

Robin

Appreciate your input, Robin. I am one of the few who does not have a facebook account. I don't look at this as a burden. Just the reverse, I am finding this quite enlightening. I am learning about other aspects of the hobby when it comes to selling(buying too!) that I have not had to confront before.

Hope sharing this helps others. Even if a person is strictly a buyer with the sole intention of keeping their possessions permanently; there will come time to sell. Keeping this in mind will help them. There are many landmines out there.

We can try to do the best we can do but things may have the possibility of falling apart. Learning what to do next can mean the difference from a total disaster to a minor inconvenience.

I am not sure if the RACC operate anywhere outside Facebook, worth a look. Yeah, I've found in the years I've been interested in graphs, I've learnt a lot.

Now I only buy through select companies and collect IP where possible. I missed an opportunity last Jan with Schwarzenegger as I should've taken a chance and just asked him for his signature, even if I was told to go do one, but that event will live with me for life.

I do feel for you because one you are put under the spotlight under the potential non authenticity of an item, it takes just one small thing to damage your reputation. I know you are an honest person/seller so this has put me off ever selling my items on eBay. I'll stick to the RACC. There, you can do what you do on eBay with MUCH less hassles.

I don't intend to sell any of my collection but in difficult financial times, especially for me right now, must nice. To have that option but I'd only follow it up if it were only absolutely necessary.
