I would like to hear any stories from members who have met famous people and felt disappointed after meeting them, etc not giving you a autograph.I have saw gene simmons on you tube telling fans to get out of his way when asking for his autograph, if it was me I would be angry but I have heard he is very arrogant and not a nice man in person. If you have any stories like this I would like to hear them.Thanks.

Pete Rose does that. no matter where he is.
Ironically, he can only get a quarter because he has signed so many items that's about what it's worth.
You would think so. But it seems like authenticated Rose items still sell surprisingly well on Ebay.
Yes!
I hold no will against him, I understand its just part of the meeting the celebrity game. You are at the mercy of their moods like all people. Ive gotten him twice since because I keep coming up with new Phillies thing to sign. He has mellowed a bit and is better usually at Phillies functions. I figure he was probably traumatized by playing in philly all those years with the boo-birds. He always was a serious guy. Now I was told John denny was a real jerk from several collectors.
Sorry this post was about mike Schmidt, and yes rose is money hungry. I was at the vegas store he signs at by mandalay bay LV and he didn't want people taking pics without paying for autographs.
the problem is that he is out with his family. once he signs for one, then everyone else comes over. I actually understand his policy.
About twenty plus years ago I was at a function where some Cincinnati Bengals were signing autographs. Standing off to the side, I noticed Ickey Woods, who was a pretty popular player at the time. He wasn't part of the signing, he was just visiting with the players who were. The event was over at 9:00 PM, and at 8:58, the place was empty. There were just me and a young lady behind me in line.
I approcahed him very politely and asked him if he could give me an autograph. He flat out refused. I again asked pretty nicely...and he wasn't having any of it.
While I'm getting my item signed by the other Bengals, he pulls out a slip of paper from his pocket, his own pen, and proceeds to write down his name and phone number and says to the girl behind me, "hey, call me sometime..."
When I found out he was selling vacuum cleaners door to door years later, it really made me happy. What an ass.
I can share one that a pretty famous autograph hound shared with me a long time ago.
So Jerry Lewis was doing a play in L.A. and this person waited outside for Mr. Lewis to leave in the wee hours of the morning. He said there was absolutely nobody around when he sees him walking towards the exit.
"Mr. Lewis, can I get an autograph?"
Jerry walks all the way over to him, grabs the pen, puts it about an inch from the photo and says, "Oh, I'm sorry, not tonight."
He's a class act, that Jerry Lewis.
I went to a celebrity golf tournament on Kiawah Island, oh, probably 13 or 14 years ago......I was really not into collecting then so I just got some sigs on paper and some golf balls I had picked up.....Jim McMahon was totally cool and laid back, no one was around, he had his feet kicked up on the cart and I said "Mr McMahon, would you please sign a golf ball? He said "absolutely, man" was happy to, I told him it was for my dad since he loved the bears and was a big fan and he said "tell your old man thanks"....so was Charles Barkley until guys swarmed him with duffel bags pulling out everything from jerseys to floor tiles....Mr. Barkley signed for everyone around till these guys kept on hounding then said "that's enough" and went into clubhouse......probably 15 or 20 people waited outside at car circle in front of clubhouse, a driver pulls up a Mercedes and out dashes John Elway with his hand up to block the 3 or 4 people trying to get a shot....I didn't even approach but several people asked politely for an autograph and were just ignored, as he tossed a bag in the trunk a young guy with a Broncos jersey on asked very politely "Mr. Elway can I please have your autograph? I always been a huge fan"......I just heard him mutter something like "I don't have the time"....and then just sped off......There were not any dealers around him that I saw, just fans and it was disappointing he would not even hardly acknowledge them
