Hey mate,

I have a few Ledger autographs in my collection and undertook a mini study of his autograph for a book I've been working on.

This one, in my opinion, is not looking good to me. Ledger's autograph in the latter parts of his career was always a bit of a mess but he even so it did tend to stick to some characteristics.

Notice how the inverted v shape of the T in Heath is almost the same size as the other letters... in most examples he tended to make this substantially larger. The dash through is was also usually straight. The curves in the 'Ledger' are also too sharp for me and the two loops in the final two formations are abnormal. The final line at the end also generally flowed out horizontally rather than straight down.

Obviously with an autograph this messy, its difficult to say 100% either way at the best of times, and I definitely can't say for certain that it isnt genuine, but given the ambiguity and problems I can see with it, I personally wouldnt be comfortable with it.

When looking for someone like Ledger with such an easily forged messy signature, I'd be holding out for a really good example that conforms to established norms from a reputable source otherwise re-sale is going to be difficult.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your nice text!

Is it possible to see a picture of an 100% original one?

greetings your friend.

Its been a long time since I had a look at the Ledger stuff, but I found this page I was working on years ago... see if this helps at all. Oh and my pleasure!
