Authenticity is Everything
Evander Holyfield and George Foreman
Hello,
Im looking at these two photos.
One is signed by Evander Holyfield and George Foreman, even though Holyfield is up against Douglas in the picture.
The other photo is just George Foreman, signed by himself.
The Holyfield signature to me resembles his signatures from authenticated ones online. If this one's a fake, then it would be a really good fake/imitation in my personal opinion.
Both George Foreman signatures in both pictures look different from one another. Even the authenticated ones online have differences when it comes to George Foreman, so Im having a hard time comparing.
Still doing continuous research and training my eye in boxing autographs, especially the 90's heavyweights.
Let me know what you think of these?

Hi, Joe. Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. First, I should tell you I’m really no boxing autograph authority. I used to have a George Foreman signed children’s book which I no longer have because I gifted it to a friend who is a HUGE George Foreman fan, and I knew it would make him very happy...which it did. To be honest...I kind of wish I still had it. (Hope he doesn’t see this.) But it’s all good. It was nice to see him so happy to have it.
In my opinion, the one on the bottom is authentic. However, I don’t think the Foreman one on top is authentic. I think the forger just screwed up really by thinking that was Foreman when it was Douglas. I’m sure Foreman wouldn’t have signed over Douglas...and it doesn’t look right.
And if the Foreman is fake, I think there’s a very good chance the Holyfield autograph is fake too.

Also, I think it’s great that you’re researching so hard. That’s the way to go about learning this business. As you research and refer to this site, your knowledge will increase exponentially, and you will start to see differences in autographs that you never noticed before. It’s really a fun hobby to be involved with. I’m glad to hear you’re approaching it the right way.

The Holyfield looks okay but his is a very simple autograph and not difficult to forge. The Foreman's both look off to me. The one with Holyfield is very different from others and the second one looks very atypical and shaky. My gut feeling is they are both not authentic

Thanks Dan. I agree with you on the Holyfield one, especially when the Foreman signature beside it is a fake then the higher the chance that the Holyfield one is good forged one (as what James stated).
And on the bottom Foreman, yeah the glove shape of the G looks shaky, and the ending of the signature puts me off with that circle and stray horizontal mark.

Loved your old discussion that I read about the Foreman signature describing the glove shape and the "f" being in the middle. That's why I thought you also collect boxing lol.
But still, thank you very much, really appreciate it!
And yes, Ill continue to learn, this hobby is a good training for the eyes lol
