It seems this discussion has strayed away from original discussion about Lennon. Certifications issued may make an autograph more "saleable" but does not necessarily make the signature "more valuable".

It is always wise to seek opinions from those with more knowledge and experience. But, in the end, we are responsible for our own choices. Collecting is a personal experience; enjoy it.

It is a real shame. Also very unfortunate thing I read here today :(

StoooooooooooP!!!

Sorry, I didn't mean it this way. I'm really sorry. This is not my way. I guess in the end what matters is that I'm happy with it. Thanks everyone. The end

I generally don't close difficult or upsetting discussions because they are usually educational and help people learn how to collect better and safer.

Daniel's position that an autograph is authentic once a respected expert certifies it as such is not uncommon. I expect that most knowledgeable buyers will want their autographs re-authenticated as authenticating and authentication technology get better and better, though.

And that position doesn't take into account that authenticators often don't catch a great new forgery until they see more than one example with similar aberrations, or similar ink or paper characteristics were previously rarely or not at all seen.

OK...enough from me for now.

+1

This discussion may have run it's course but I agree with you Steve that there is no need to close this thread.

It might be irritating and frustrating but it's not harmful. And people have a choice not to read it of their own free will.

I vote keep it open
