I began collecting autographs back around 1975 or 76 when I was in high school.  Then I mainly collected historical autographs and documents from the Revolutionary War up to about 1950.    I collected for ten years or so and kind of got out of it until 1999.  I then began attending some small conventions and meeting many of the older stars from the 1920s-1960s and getting autographs in person.  I also have been buying some autographs of actors I have fond memories of.   I tend to collect somewhat obscure actors who were in movies or shows that I enjoyed.  I am a collector and not a dealer or seller.   My main reason for being here is to take advantage of the great expertise of many of the members of this site.  I also enjoy seeing the autographs and learning what others enjoy collecting.

I've been collecting since the early 1990's and have over 1,300 autographs - some in person and others purchased.  I collect classic Hollywood from silent era to now - although very selective about current stars.  I really miss the hard copy Autograph magazine.  I don't keep up with what is going on now as I work on a computer all day and just hate doing that in my free time.

Hey all!

My name is Danny and I'm part of www.authenticinkgraphs.com

We are an upcoming business, offering a wide variety of autographed memorabilia.  We look forward to contributing to the forums!

I'm a Belgian autpgraphcollector. I live in Merksem (near Antwerp). My English is not so good, but I hope you will understand it. I'm an autographcollector since many years. At the moment my collection contains aboutr 6400 autographs in all fields. Most of them are "trough the mail" autographs. I write 5 letters a week: 1 for Belgium, 1 for the Netherlands, 1 for Germany, 1 for another European country and 1 to the States. Sometimes I trty to get an autograph "in person". The most famous person was Bill Clinton, 8 years ago in Antwerp. I stand more than 10 hours at his hotel. Somertimes a buy autographs on an auction. The first one was Patsy Cline.

So, this is all forf the moment.

I've been collecting autographs since I was 12 years old. The first one I ever got was of Dave Justice, who quickly became my favorite baseball player on the spot! Little did I know he would become the 1990 National League Rookie of the Year and help lead the Braves to a World Series championship 5 years later. I soon learned later that you could write to people and get autographs in the mail. My first Through the Mail autograph was of Rams quarterback Jim Everett. That's when I caught the fever and have been writing people ever since. When I joined this site a few years ago, I learned about all the different subject matter one could collect from, and have really been able to branch out and not only collect some awesome autographs in person and through the mail, but also learn about many of the fascinating people I have requested an autograph fun. To me, it all about the experience and holding a real piece of treasure that is personal to that individual in your hand.

I've been collecting for 11 or 12 years now. My main areas of interest are vintage Hollywood/music, NBA basketball, and presidents. I like talking about autographs, non-expertly opining on them, and hopefully learning and teaching a little.

My family enjoys collecting signed sports memorabilia.  We only started this hobby about a year ago.  We are interested in learning more from others who have been doing this longer.

Hello Everyone, my name is Scott and I've been collecting since the early 1990's mostly baseball and football, but some music and celebrities too.  This website is such a great way to educate others on the rampant forgeries that continue to plague the hobby.  I want to thank Christopher so much for exposing the Derek Jeter fakes that GAI kept authenticating.  I have personally seen so many of them in stores and at shows over the last few years (all of which were GAI certified).  It was hurting the value of all of us with real Jeter items, which I have a few (2 Steiner and 3 I personally obtained over the years).  Keep up the good work guys!  You are all true heroes of the hobby!!!!

I have been collecting vintage sports autographs for quite some time . I look forward to adding and recieving incite in this forum
