Is my Calissta Gingrich auto card really a Newt Gingrich?

I just purchased this card on eBay. This is a “Newt Gingrich” autograph, not that of his wife. Any comments?

It's Newt for sure.

Thanks. I came across it on eBay. There are many with her correct signature, but no others like mine.

Thanks again for your reply. Any suggestions as to what I should do with the card. Is it considered an “error” card? Will a 3rd-party authenticator slab the card and recognize the “error” and place that on a label? Any suggestions? Anyone?

Definitely an error and strangely might actually be worth more to some collectors because of that. A third party MIGHT recognize it as an error and authenticate it but I know they can be goofy themselves. I remember seeing a slabbed Morgan Freeman signed index card but stated on the slab was George Foreman. I contacted the seller letting them know and they thanked me and told me they will send it back to have it corrected. They also had a George Foreman signed index card labeled as Morgan Freeman but unfortunately that sold so they couldn’t get that one fixed.

Since this one is the card company that made the error I think it might have extra value to card collectors but if a third party authenticator made the error I haven’t yet seen that bring extra - but more of a goof that needs fixing.

Hey! Thank you so much for your comments. Like many, I’m getting older and paying more attention to my collection. Still, I am a “ham-n-egger” when it comes to certain aspects of card collecting. Like when it comes to “error” cards. I mean, sure sometimes card companies mistakenly misprint a statistic or something and sometimes don’t bother to correct the error. I guess it depends on the error snd who the person is. Here, I’ve got what is obviously a Newt Gingrich signature on his wife’s card. It really doesn’t matter what your politics are, Newt Gingrich is a very famous person, once Speaker of the House and 3rd in succession to the Presidency. He doesn’t have the glitz and glamor of some like Trump or Obama or Clinton or even Nixon, for that matter, but he was a staple in American politics for many years.

What I’m really interested in doing is trying to get the card company to acknowledge the error. They’re not a major card company, and the “contact us” link on their homepage allows you to leave a message, but there is no way to attach scans of the card.

For the time being, I definitely plan on keeping the card, unless, of course, someone offers me an insane amount of money (which isn’t likely.). I do want to thank you sincerely for your comments and I welcome any and all comments. I’m pretty much on this site to learn from professionals, so I greatly appreciate it when someone takes the time to comment. Thanks, everyone!

If you don’t care about having it as a card you have the option to remove the signature and just keep it as a cut (unless it’s completely glued down inside the card).

Otherwise try contacting the company and asking if you can get an error corrected - just use the message option on their homepage before worrying about sending scans.

Thank you. Yes, I did contact the company in the exact manner you stated. I guess I need to be a little patient. If/when I hear from them, I’ll post whst learned. Thanks.
