Old guy seems legit. Bought it from a very reputable dealer in Vegas who died about 6 years ago. BUT, I sent a pic to Global Authentics (they offer a quick opinion for $10) and they came back with a negative.  So crap. I doubt $10 got me more than a glance at it, but still, it has no COA and I don't want to buy if I can't get someone reputable to say it's authentic, just in case i ever had to liquidate.  So, anyone on here know Eddie VH signature really well? It says Van Halen 07 under the signature and by the way, who would butcher that part so badly if they were doing a fake?  Just a thought.  Any help would be appreciated.

That seems quite a bit to me for essentially a signed pick guard. Is Eddie really thst rare? I could see it being that price if signed on the body of a nice guitar.

Do we agree the lack of his obvious "E" and the form/number of strokes/slants and handwriting are atypical?

Are you talking about the 2nd e in Eddie? If so, my other sig didn't have that. It was sort of legible for the first few letters then scribble, then a weird lookin VH with his loop at the end. But I'm no expert, that's why I'm here.

First. I just don't see how it is genuine.

It definitely doesn't look like ones I've found online, but neither did my other one, that's why I'm having a hard time because the old man believes it and his source was a trusted guy for lots of years. I'm still waiting on another paid opinion.

This stuff - "the old man believes it and his source was a trusted guy for lots of years." - means next to nothing. Te autograph should ,match even varied period signatures from Van Halen. If not...

The only one I've found where it was definitely Eddie signed on the body (because it was limited to 12 so he definitely signed it for a promotion) they want $8k. Not saying that's all that's out there, but everything else is above 2k if it's on the body and certified through someone reputable.

i have a complete guitar in storage with original band done in person.

i know the eddie doesnt match the eddies i have gotten in person from him

this was my signed tour jacket that i got in person

That Eddie looks a lot like the one I had. Not exactly but pretty close. In storage? I'll buy it!
