I just got a very nice James Brown item with a cover and a hand-written note.

James Brown visited Finland many times and he had shows here in Helsinki also in Hotel Hesperia where he even used to stay during his visits.

He left this envelope to the reception desk while leaving the hotel sometimes in the 1980’s. The envelope seems to have his hand-written greeting: “To Mr …… James Brown, Thank you”.

There’s also a handwritten text on the envelope in Finnish language:

22/2 aamuvuoro #912 MR BROWNIN HUONEEN SIIVOOJALLE

(= February 22, morning shift, room number 912, to the cleaning lady of the room of Mr. Brown”)

But who might be “Sean”?

With the envelope I also got a handwritten note:

Thanks for your kind service. I’m sorry, but I’m out of Finnish Markas. Sincerely, Sean.”

I wonder if anybody knows if Mr. Brown had  a “Sean” in his orchestra/crew. I did not find anything about this on the Internet. The note comes from the same source with the envelope and I wonder if they are a set or two totally different items – meaning that “Sean” did not belong to Mr. Browns personnel but was just some other hotel visitor.
