Oh well it will be a great  read anyway!

thanks, and give a fans best!

Welcome Gigi,

I hope this discussion opens up a new appreciation of autographs for you.  Your Father is one of the greats and a "must have" for any Hollywood collector.

I would love to know your feelings about secretarial signed autographs that go to fans. What's your opinion about them?  The purpose is totally understandable. As you can see though, they sadly cause a lot of confusion and drama at times when they are regarded as "authentic".

I think many people here would enjoy knowing your opinion regarding these signatures.

The Rockford pose and the Up Periscope pose compare favorably to autographs I received through the mail in the 90s... maybe early 2000s.

Was Mr. Garner signing mail requests in that time frame? Can we presume this style is authentic?

Regards!

Here is the last page of his contract for the Polaroid commercials of the early 80's...

Yes ......  That is the metallic pen!

He also liked to use a blue felt pen ...

By the way, I was in a Mazda commercial with him ;)

I remember the Mazda commercial!  I got the picture through Pat Persico's club.  It was so impressive that he (or someone? :-)) would take the time to regularly send signed photos and christmas cards.  And here's a blue felt tip from the early 80's!
...and one of those signatures using the "metalic pen!"

So would this be an example of one those secretarials? It's neither in blue or metallic...
