This is an assortment of Jerry Lee Lewis signatures that have been offered for sale by RACC trusted sellers. Some of these were offered prior to the associated seller's appearance on the list. What do you think of them? Perhaps we can gain some additional clarity from these examples. Please post any you'd like to add.

From the Autographed Wax website and anon32043837 on iOffer.com.

It will be interesting to see if Beckett authenticates this one, even with the extraneous dot over "Lee." Has anyone seen an IP signature in this style? How about an authentic JLL signature in which he dotted both the "I" and one of the "E"s? The only time I've seen that is when it was a forgery in the style of this signature. The pen pressure and underlining of the signature appear to be consistent with that forgery style.

...and they did. It's now on eBay from seller silverscreensignatures. The cert # is G49099.

Hi Ballroom,

Do you think the two with the "Killer" inscription are authentic? The signatures themselves look so much neater than any other JLL autographs I've come across, and the printed inscription portions don't resemble any writing exemplars in my file. When it comes to JLL, I'm always prepared to be surprised by what's good and what isn't but for future reference, I'd appreciate your thoughts on the authenticity of these two autographs in particular. Thanks very much.

Based on both the signatures and inscriptions, I do believe that they're authentic. The one signed "To Xavier" is said to be from July of 2005. Xavier says that he obtains all of his autographs in person, and respected IP collector Jason Thanos called him "an honest guy true gem in the game."

Thanks, Ballroom. I appreciate it.

Thanks for your posts. Much appreciated.

I know this is a longshot, but would anyone happen to have the PSA/DNA cert# for this one from Iconic Auctions? The photo is too blurry to see it. Thanks.

Bump for Mr. Steffman. Could you possibly comment on the signatures shown in the OP? Can they all be used as authentic exemplars? Thanks!

No answer is fine, but the lack of clarity would seem to reflect poorly on RACC and AutographCOA.

This exact second is the first time I have seen this thread. I wonder if I hadn't seen it for another day or two, if there would have been 2 or 3 more comments about what the perception would be if I hadn't responded yet. Why wouldn't I simply comment if you've asked me to?

If you're asking whether I would use the above examples for my signature database, I would have to contact each seller individually and ask if they personally witnessed Jerry Lee Lewis signing each individual autograph in question, before using them. I think we can eliminate some of these samples based on a fair assumption that they were signed by his helper.

The next time a Jerry Lee Lewis is submitted, I am sure I will be populating our database with more samples and pursuing that task again. Until that time comes, I am just too swamped to jump into this one again. It's a bit like falling down a rabbit hole. However.. I can say that I am excited to study him again. His signature is one of the few names that has left me with less confidence than I'd prefer in any study. But I believe that I was a direct result of misleading/bad information being collected during my study and speaking w/ various collectors who CLAIMED to witness him signing, when they actually hand't. Or had mixed up their items from various occasions when they did and didn't see him signing in front of their own eyes.

It may be good to start with a bit of a clean slate.
