Hi everyone!

I have tried posting this twice, but no one seems to comment. I really hope someone can help me out... I am new to this hobby, as in within the last month! It's been hard determine what signings are real or fake, but I saw this site and people seem genuinely willing to help. I am into collecting movie/tv autographs specifically since I am a huge movie buff. I have been wanting a Jim Cummings autograph for a while now. But I have been reading horror stories about bad sellers and fakes being authenticated anyways. I am in need of some professional collectors' opinions. Can someone tell me which of these is an actual autograph from him?

If someone could help a new collector out I would very much appreciate it!

Hi Kayla,

Jim Cummings is not, it would seem, a super valuable autograph so I would think faking his autograph would not be particularly worthwhile, thus there shouldn't be much in the way of fakes around.

If you look long enough and do comparisons you can be sure what is real and what isn't, it's a bit like buying a house - you don't buy the first one you look at - but after you have seen 50, you just know :)

I had a quick look at current listings on Ebay and they mostly seem to be the same hand, some hurried some not. You probably can't go too wrong. It's Elvis, the Beatles, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe signatures, for example, you have to be extremely careful of.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I believe put enough time into yourself into researching the signature you want and you will know as much as any expert. I have seen many experts be completely wrong.

Good Luck

Yes Pauline is right. The big names are the ones that are most difficult to know if they are real or not. Bottom line is there is no way to know 100 percent way unless they sign it in front of you. Always feel comfortable with your sources, always see what can be said about how they were obtained, COA's are OK buy remember that your mostly getting opinions and everyone makes mistakes. JSA and PSA are the two big ones but educate yourself and don't depend on them 100 percent of the time.

Hi Kayla and welcome. Jim Cummings might be a little less known here so tough to give an honest accurate answer. I like the Pooh with the honey pot one. It has a pic of the guy with him but no certificate. He is not a huge name so hopefully 90% of those would be good.He was just at La comic con and he is on Facebook. Keep an eye out he might do signings also.Good luck!

How many known exemplars do you have? Seems a spread on eBay and selecting based on 34 seems a bit problematic. You say you are a new collector. Time to learn, not buy, IMHO. And Ian is right - try the source - the man himself.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice but I've found one. This was posted at the beginning of September, so it's been about two months since I posted this. But thanks guys. I found one that I believe is reliable. More people should know this man, one of my favorite voice actors of all time...
