Found on a ticket. Supposedly an early example.

Authentic IMO. It’s on the back of a Tabernacle Club ticket from 3/26/67.

Yep.

The Tabernacle was in Stockport, about a mile and a half from my home.  I walk past the former site regularly.  It is an empty lot now, across the street from the famous Strawberry Studios.

Here is a photo, taken by my girlfriend a few years ago, showing the former site of the club:

That’s very cool. Thanks for the photo!

You’re very welcome.

Hendrix played Stockport twice within a matter of weeks, which, if you knew the town, you’d realise how remarkable that is.  No one plays gigs here these days; they all play Manchester instead.

His first appearance was on Sunday, 12 February 1967, at the Sinking Ship Clubland, Royal Oak Yard, off Little Underbank.  This is the building today.  The building with the steep steps and the arched doorway at the rear of the yard.  I believe the entrance was just to the right of the steps, down the alley:

The sad thing is, very few locals these days are aware of this amazing history.  Even fewer care.

Nice! Have you seen any autographs from that day? I haven’t seen any that I’m aware of.

I haven’t.  It’s possible that they exist and have never made it to market; or maybe they are lost to the sands of time.  It was all a long time ago.  Fifty-five years this month, in fact.

I would like to meet a local who attended one or both of the Stockport gigs.  There must be people still knocking about who were there.  They’d be in their early seventies now at least.

My elder brother and his mates attended the Tabernacle gig 26th March 67 although his recollection is scant,  despite my grilling him over and over.

Thanks guys!

I like it too. Condition, contrast, eye appeal. Nice find Luke.

My girlfriend just made me aware of this pop-up event, taking place this Saturday, celebrating 55 years since Hendrix played the Sinking Ship:

And there I was, bemoaning that no one is interested any longer!

We may well go along to this.  I’m keen to see what memorabilia they have managed to dig up, and, of course, if they have any autographs from that day.
