Both look good to me. No returns on the first - but I have asked. Perhaps sec? C. 1950's. First seller not an autograph dealer. Second certainly so - mentions Mildred Pierce while reading and/or preparing to film Baby Jane the next month. Thank you for your opinions.

From what I have seen and encountered for sale and as exemplars blue is best for these letters. Once I had a folder with several hundred to examine and remove the secretarials for my old friend and deal Carl B.

I know some scanners do not get color right I had a Dub Taylor it is orange but scanned pink!  That is great to have examined so many.

If you're happy with this I'd say enjoy it, Eric.  Mr. Houle is a fine dealer. No question about that.  I just purchased an item from him this week and am eagerly looking forward to it

Just a word of caution based on my experience. I disagree and would advise that collectors don't put much weight in the blue paper stationary as a determinant of authenticity for Crawford.  I've seen many blue papers in styles that are in the spirit of what you have bought and also in this other, very indisputably secretarial style:

I believe she may have had more secretaries over the years than most think. They had their own styles. Some very close to the real Crawford hand.

Absolutely re color of the paper re secretarials. As always, it is the ink. which in this case has me now more than convinced. Thank you Eddy! Most appreciated.

I'm glad to hear you're happy with your purchase.

I am, now, thanks to you adding your considered voice. I am second guessing and with the other things I just needed your reassurance,

Thank you got making me feel comfortable. It is, in hand, more fluid than it appears in the scan which is not only off in terms of color gout very sharp  unless you enlarge it and then is gets fuzzy.

To be honest, it's not something I would have purchased.  These days, I find that I have to be all in as far as comfort level.  Only so many resources and they're getting scarcer everyday!

Having said that, your comfort level is all it is important since you are the new owner.  That is the most important reality!

What specifically do you find objectionable? Please do tell me.

Why did you say what you said then? I am comfortable but I was and am asking if you are. I'd not, please say and show why.I appreciate and want your opinion.

Here's one I like from the early 60s as well.

What do you see?

The blue paper was only one supportive part of a much larger picture.

Can you post any examples of these additional secretarial styles? You are saying there are secretaries that produce signatures significantly more skilled than those by the secretary I am told was Berry Barker (1955-197?) which is too pretty and legible. Scott posted a run of them from the late 50's onward.
