The M drives me nuts.

The "M" sort of kills it, IMO. The whole thing appears unsure. Hesitant. The base of the "D" combined with the implied "i" rather than a distinct slash for an 'i' that typically is formed when this style of Joe's "D". Even the "J" looks unsure as it nears completion, like a correction was made of the trajectory. Whole thing looks strange to me, and as stated, that "M" is way out in left field.

Chris and Terrier are the experts here on this and I'm still learning Joey D, trying to develop my feel for his writing, but I have similar reservations to yours on this, Ian, about its validity.

Please post the photo horizontally.

Here you go, C:

I agree that the M is a little funky, but the speed, flow, and the rest of the signature looks good. I believe this is authentic.

The "oe" seemed very tiny to me in comparison to the rest of the lower case letters, about half the size they typically are in his signatures.

I wouldn't draw any authenticity conclusions from the "oe".  There are other parts of the signature that forgers always screw up that are more telling.

Got it. In this case, the "oe" looking to me like a byproduct of when we have a contest to see who can write the smallest, and still be able to read it, and that funky "M" threw the whole symmetry off to me.
