Just came across a John Lennon Imagine Signed litho.

Anyone here seen these before?? Is the autograph authentic or Faxsmile autograph. Ltd Ed of 422/2500

There's no way John would have signed 2500 of these in person -- and no one has seen any until now.

I have seen these in the past. My understanding was, at that time, that it was purely a "visual" piece of artwork. I was never led to believe that it was supposed to be actually signed by John, just a limited edition of created album artwork. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a company in the 80's - 90's also create a whole bunch of these different "album cover art" pieces by different bands with their facsimile signatures on the bottom. Sticky Fingers, Abbey Road, etc. come to mind. Again, I don't believe they were ever represented as actual signatures, obviously, price being the dead giveaway. I read the article that Eric attached. I was never aware of any of this with Yoko's involvement. This certainly appears deceptive and is wrong but people's logic should tell them that this is impossible for all the reasons stated in the article. It appears that, in both scenarios, that they are preying on general public buyers and not true collectors. It's a shame.

I had a feeling that it is a faxsimile autograph when I saw it.
The owner claimed that it is an original autograph and the price he was asking was steep.
