Hi! I recently acquired this Judy Garland autograph. It's a cut album page attached to an index card. PSA quick check came back as likely authentic. What do you think?

No, slightly atypical. Different to me. Note the "y" and pen lift at the "a" in the OP as well as the "r" which looks like an "e". Also the nature of the "arland" in the OP. The HA example has a fluidity lacking in the OP, despite the more than normal amount of ink - appears mid 1940's with that first loop in the "y", which often echoes the "d" under it. The 2 baselines in the OP do not diverge as in authentic examples. If you check Tricia Eaton's work or the UACC study I don't think you will find a good compare.

I think this is real. Eric, I see genuine characteristics that I'm familiar with in the comparison that Terrier put together, and neither one sets off alarm bells me for. How sure are you that the OP isn't real?

Quite - it lacks her fluidity and light rapid hand apart from the things I listed earlier. I've never seen one like it, either looking myself or from reading Tricia's and the UACC studies.

This is one of those rare circumstances where I'm as sure it's real as you're sure it's fake.

I reviewed our study you referred to that Tricia Eaton did to make sure I'm not missing something.

Differing opinions are fertile grounds for education for us both :)

The way the ink lays, feathers, the paper, does not bode well with me. I think it is a simulation. And then all his other forged sigs all cuts. This Garland is not fluid, not signed with ease.

Anybody else have an opinion? I see this as a dead forgery with many problems - just the presentation does not have her fluidity, speed and flavor. Others do not. Not to mention it was purchased before for $227 and returned and sold again, as well as all his other forgery cuts - Bogart, Lugosi, Chaney, Karloff etc. Anyone?

I've been on the fence on this one. I've noticed this seller's stuff in the past and had my suspicions but if this is a forgery it's a darn good one. I think it's likely genuine and would probably pass third party authentication.

Update: I sent this in to Beckett to be authenticated and encapsulated and it came back as authentic.

Interesting. I don't see it.
