This looks secretarial to me

The book ("By Myself") came out in 1979. Can't read the dating too well, but it looks like it says "1973". That alone would give me pause.

The signature is far too stretched compared to her usual style. Plus, there are several instances where association copies are signed as "Betty". I'm calling either secretarial or a fake.

many thanks.  I thought it probably was secretarial as well.  It is a very streched sig.  And is this one ok in your opin?
