Mmm. I would be rethinking this item. If as I suspect it can never be top notch.

To my thinking, after authenticity there is condition, contrast, content and eye appeal. I expect this item suffers in condition and some eye appeal and the contrast is not blast. YMMV.

I asked for more scans of this photo.  It does not appear to have emulsification issue in the background.  It looks as though the photographer added a painterly effect to his shadow by retouching it before printing.

No, I truly don't think so. Each, by hand? That can't be done with the negative then. Steve Z or Pete B knows the term for this condition IIRC.
