She had a previous signing event for "With a Z" and here is supposedly a real example from that event. Differences and similarities.

Looks like they are handing out pre-signed copies

One of the bigger concerns for me is how none of these books have a Z that curves off at the end which is present in her known authentic examples but we can't dismiss these books based on that. I think we need to see her sign these live. I see good qualities but also questionable. The more I look at it, the more I flip flop lol.

Do these new examples change anyone's view?

100% once / if we're able to see a live copy signed, I would guess that these will be deemed bad. One person had an in person signature from her two years ago on an autograph group on Facebook, and the signature was horribly jagged, very similar to Tim Curry's. I'd be hard pressed to see how she could get better with her signature at this quantity, and being older, but I'm certainly open to other information.

If you find that signature again, could you post it here? I agree with your logic but Im leaning the other way though.. it's hard to compare sit down events in a relaxed setting to something like this.

Here is my copy (from Booka/UK)

Not optimistic. These signatures (and I'm including a photo of my B&N copy below) just seem lifeless and "copied" to me. The conversation about Liza's health reminded me of the Sinead O'Connor debacle.

Us: "Hey, these books are stamped, not signed!"

S O'C: "Of course I didn't sign them. I'm not physically able to sign that many autographs!"

Yet somehow they got bound in, sold, and shipped.

Here is a picture from The Alabama Booksmith's website.

This is tough, never in my life having any interest in Liza, but I'm having fun with it. There are still too many aspects and angles that match up to known authentic examples. There is just as much good as there is bad. I'd argue when this happens it possibly can mean the celebrity just signed a bit different for that specific time period... I've started to veer from 100% known authentic examples just to compare more broadly for clues. Take this item from history for sale (can be a good source for authentic signatures but I feel it's a mixed bag) and there is a perfect match with their index card. Is it her signature, or is this a secretary that has been signing for her all along??? Or is this a new item just cut from her book?  Research continues..

I am the same, no interest, not even sure why I bought one :(

I didn't even buy one. I'm not financially invested at all but find this interesting. I don't blame you for buying though, I thought about it for a moment because of Arrested Development and just random pop culture knowledge of her in general but never pulled the trigger.

I’ve been looking at lots of examples and went back to the two posted by Tobysautographs under the Authors section. They noted that the two they received were very similar. It appears that the “ove” in love matches pretty well, though one of the e’s has an open loop.

I’ve been working on an overlay and will try to post the video here. Focus on the “ove” in “love”.
