Starting this separate thread to track the potential Liza Minnelli autopen situation.

It appears that signed copies of her new book, Kids Wait Till You Hear This!, may include autopen signatures.

I’m working to update this thread with the information to date, but for now, please see the existing Liza Minnelli thread for more information.

Feel free to post your examples or any info on the return situation.

Overlay Video 1

Note how “Liza” matches up

Overlay Video 2

-First round, note how the “Love” appears to overlay nearly exactly

-Second round, the circle of the smiley face appears to overlap closely, and the L is starting to line up as well

-Third round, the Z and the A in “Liza” appear to lineup closely.

Overlay Video 3

Notice how almost all of the smiley face lines up on this one

-With a slight adjustment, notice how the Z and the A start to align as well

Seems like a possible upgrade from older autopen machines. It looks like there is variable pen pressure and random manipulations from templates of which there may be many. This could be a huge find in the ever continuous quest to protect our hobby. Great job Matt M.

Knob Dylan, that's an interesting point about Premiere Collectibles and their JSA option. I wonder if Liza's team was aware of this add on from premiere and made sure she signed these bookplates by hand

Thanks Jason, I appreciate it…you set the bar for this sort of thing!

Thanks Knob Dylan for posting that photo. I did some overlaying with it… there are some weird similarities showing up (not uncommon), but I didn’t find anything concrete off the bat.

And I agree- I think that’s a good point about how the Premiere copies were supposedly JSA Authenticated. Not sure what to make of that yet.

Not a problem Matt M, you guys are waaaay better than me with this stuff and although I didn't buy a Liza, I definitely appreciate your guys time and effort towards this. These "signatures" are not good (at least the non-bookplated ones so far).

That's why I didn't post this yet in the new Liza Autopen thread. I'd love to see more of the Premiere bookplated versions especially if they have the JSA certification. The others on Ebay all look very close to the templates Matt and others have posted here. Quite a few sellers with 6 or 7 already sold and another 3 or more in their stock. None look good to me but someone's paying $80 to $90 or more for autopens.

I'm confused now, found this on Facebook supposedly from premiere. Did they sell bookplate and regular versions?

I think Premiere were all bookplates, here's a post from August 15th stating signed bookplate.

Hi Jason,

When i purchased my copy it stated personal autograph inside book.

Interesting. I guess they sold both versions then

Or maybe they changed the listing to bookplate edition after i purchased the book. I always take a screenshot for proof if i have to argue the fact at a later date.

That's what I assumed actually. They are good at changing their listings as they see fit for price and descriptions. Your probably right, sold the regular version until they ran out, then changed it to a bookplate version. Either way, good to have verification they sold both. In case the bookplates are fine, can't assume you were safe buying from premiere

Here's mine from Barnes & Noble.
