I bought this Marilyn Monroe Productions Bank Check Clipping recently, in all my years of staring at Marilyn signatures, this one looks consistent with other lazy signed bank checks.  However.. beckett gave me a quick "unlikely to pass Full Authentication " within an hour of my submission. My heart and gut are telling me they are wrong! Please give me your opinions. The veryast photo is a signature sold by Heritage Auctions, that I feel is consistent with mine.

That makes sense. Additionally many blank MM Production cheques were sold on Ebay some years ago, which have since been used for forgery.

This is a new aspect of forgery. It's not like Milton Greene was a nobody. I wondered what that scratchiness was about on the signature area.

In the end, you have either pay the big bucks for a really solid item with providence or train your own eye. I do believe the latter doesn't take that long, it's just creating a brain pattern, like learning any skill, then you can trust yourself.

Who sold you this again? Sorry to see this has happened to you. Join this online community and put anything you want to buy on on here, more particularly the Marilyn Monroe Forum and you will get a lot of free, and informed opinions.  Or if you don't want to go public straight away, you are welcome to message me, I accepted your friend invite. All of us here are just trying to keep the fraud at bay.

JG Autographs has been offering blank MM checks for quite some time on a weekly basis in their auctions.  I'm assuming they are real.  It never crossed my mind that people could be buying them up to use as forgeries for handwriting and signatures.  How would you get all of the cancellation stamps and marks though to make it look real?

I am aware of those auctions and I must admit that I am not necessarily against collecting unused celebrity checks.

I do think that the normal bank stamps, etc. would help make it difficult to use an unissued check to create a forgery. It seems there is a larger issue of erasing the other signature off genuine checks and adding a fake MM.
