Hey guys! I just got started with my Autograph passion. One guy from Germany would like to sell me this Marilyn Monroe Signature for about 1200 dollars (1000 euros): He has also a COA from Alessandro Pippia (9th November 2016). On the certificate it says also that this signature was acquired in 1951 or 1952 at the Carlton Hotel in Beverly Hills. It also states that this signature is estimated to be worth about 9600 euros. I dont know I have seen also some Ebay offers and the prices total vary. Mabye you guys can be give me a price range for this autograph.
It says " To Carlton love and KIsses Marilyn Monroe"
I am not sure. The signature looks nice. The part Mari lyn is separated..there is also a dot on the i on Mari and the lyn part looks like a B or 8...the Monroe part is easily to be read and the e at the end has this long line...But could be also a GREAT forgery i guess hehe..what do you guys say about that oneXp
Here are the pictures of the signature, the authenticator how he certificates the COA and the COA itself. Thank you guys for your help:))BIG THANKS:)
Thanks guys:) That was a close one , I guess. It sounded too good to be true heh. I wrote the guy if he can let it get checked by Markus Brandes, I will see then if he replys..but WOW...I also read through again the COA..and there are many grammar and spelling mistakes hehe the guy told me that he want it extra to be translated from English in German..but still..even this sounds suspicious and that he just wants 1000 euros instead of more is also wierd..yeah it says on the COA that the authenticator estimates it to be 9600 euro worth
Okay..the seller told me that he does not want to send it to Markus Brandes even when I insisted that I would pay for it if the authentification was positive..heh.the seller said he already paid 250 euros for the authentification by Mr.Pippa...so yeah scam.but thank you guys for the tipps:)
Deleted, see below.

The next time I will do better research! Thank you Sir:)
That would have been very difficult for you to find online, there are thousands of MM exemplars on the net, both real and fake. It looked so familiar to me because I remembered the "Carlton" inscription, not a common name, so I thought I was looking at something that had changed hands amongst collectors. it looked as I remembered it so I didn't suspect it at first, the forging effort being a good one, the paper and ink plausible, and parts of the lines spot on. This was part of my MM exemplar files already, I just had to find the right location where the image and link was stored, I have to organize someday.
Christian...why don't you send that image to the guy you're dealing with? He KNOWS his isn't real but why not let him know he's been found out???
Will you do it?
Excellent work by Woody!
A tip of the cap to you...
Yes you are right Sir! There so many signatures around...I would not know which are fake and real eheh soo true:) Thank you for taking the time and searching through your files. Yes I have sent the guy a mail with the link of this photo..I am positively sure that he wont reply..but I will make an add on this website where I have found this signature and warn other potential buyers not to buy this forgery..really good one heh but still

Woody, I just saw this. Great investigative work!
Where did you find it? What's it's history?
Steve, I just had the link. In surfing the net studying and looking for autos as I often do, I cam across this page with this image and saved it because it was fantastic. A very clean, super-legible textbook example of an early 50s MM signature. So I committed the image and link for that webpage it appeared on to my files, which I have devices chock full of, in no particular order. One day, when time permits, I have to get more organized and compile them accordingly for fast access, put all the MMs together, the Ruths, the Gehrigs, the horror actors, all the examples I've saved over the years from the net that I think are authentic. I'd be glad to share once the project is done!
Well done Woody!
You're very welcome, all. Very glad to help.
